This presentation addresses modern hospital equipment and hospital technology in 1934 in the laundry, sewing room (sheets and bandages), kitchen, patient and operating rooms, laboratory, newborn room, pharmacy, and sterilizing room. Nurses and technicians are featured throughout the film and the patients are shown in recreation room and on tennis courts. In addition, sketches of the following hospitals are included: Hospital of St. Nicholas, Salisbury, England (founded 1214); Pennsylvania Hospital and Medical School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (founded 1766); Ford's Hospital, Coventry, England (founded 1766); Hospital of St. Cross, Winchester, England (founded 1136); Hospital of St. Thomas of Canterbury, England (founded 1170).
