Abstract:
(Critical) This program reviews the evaluation of occupational skin diseases. The impact on industry is reviewed in terms of workers affected, time loss, and workmen's compensation. Types of cutaneous illness are illustrated, emphasizingcontact dermatitis, and four types of lesions are presented. A diagnosis and treatment session is depicted. The value of standard patch testing and on-site inspections is omitted and the evaluation of occupational dermatosis is addressed only superficially. The techniques and theory are accurate and current, but the instructional level is inconsistent. Because overemphasis is placed on workman's compensation practices in Ontario, the material will be of minimal use to the practicing dermatologist. This is recommended for limited use only.
