Abstract:
(Critical) This program is inappropriate for any professional audience. It is a propaganda document, anti-establishment, and pushing home delivery. It is competently and beautifully produced and potentially can do harm as a propaganda document. The program is not recommended for any professional audience. and Primum non nocere, directly translating to “Above all, do no harm” is a phrase coined over two thousand years ago. Producers of this program apply the phrase and the philosophy to choosing natural birth in the home. This story focuses on a couple who have decided to give birth without the help of anesthetics, nurses, forceps, or stirrups, among other hospital amenities. At home with the support of friends and family, the mother feels comfortable and develops a close bond with her baby. The video then ends with several images of the birthing experience while soothing music plays in the background.
