This 1973 program is a presentation by Major M. Kaminski Jr. of Walter Reed Army Medical Center on hyperalimentation catheter care. Improper care can lead to intravenous catheter sepsis, which can cause major complications and even death. Major Kaminski recommends dressing changes as well as catheter maintenance and care every other day, or more frequently as needed. After showing all of the necessary equipment, he then demonstrates the procedure on a patient.
