Abstract:
(Critical) This program presents the principles of fluorescein angiography, including anatomic and physiologic basic, standard techniques and interpretation. The presentation of basic information on retinal and choroidal vascular anatomy is especially well done. Examples of specific pathologic conditions causing abnormal areas of hyperfluorescene and hypofluorescene are discussed by relating schematic diagrams of the histologic abnormalities to the actual clinical fluorescein angiographs. A technique of performing fluorescein angiography in the office with a slit lamp or ophthalmoscope is described. A self-test of fluorescein fundus pictures concludes the presentation. The program is well designed and consistent and is highly recommended for audiences familiar with fluorescein angiography.
