Photo was taken by painter Thomas Cromwell Corner, in preparation for Corner's portrait of Osler. The portrait was completed during Osler's last days in Baltimore, before his move to England and Oxford University. He was thoroughly bored by the painters during his last busy (and persecuted) months in Baltimore--hence, perhaps, the strangely aggressive appearance.. [Description courtesy of McGill University.]
