Abstract:
Typhoid was a common and sometimes serious infectious disease in Osler's time, and he studied large numbers of typhoid patients, and correlated the pathological and clinical manifestations of the disease. He was also the first to provide a thorough, definitive description of typhoid, compiling all the current writing on the subject and combining this with his own research.
