The Presidential Rank Awards are given to career members of the federal government's Senior Executive Service whose performance is exceptional for an extended period. Presidential Rank can be "Distinguished Senior Executive" or "Meritorious Senior Executive." Sokoloff's was "distinguished" and that rank came with a $20,000 award.
