In this very long "memo" to Rhoades, McClintock demonstrated that she now believed that the c-m1 mutable was a case of Ds having transposed to the C locus, or just to its left. She further speculated on the patterns of c-m2. The findings completed her picture of Ds action. The memo contains sections where McClintock speculated on biochemical and physical mechanisms to explain transposition, mutation, and gene expression.
