No person shall bring into the city for sale, or shall sell, or offer tor sale, any halibut, cod, haddock, or mackerel, until the same have been cleansed of their entrails and refuse parts ; and such entrails and refuse parts shall be thrown overboard, below low-water mark ; and shall never be kept beyond the flowing of the tide next after such fish are so cleansed ; and until so thrown over- board they shall be kept, in a safe manner, on board the vessels or boats in which the fish were brought. And no person shall sell or deliver, from any stall, fish-box, cart, 01 othei place, any fish of any kind except flounders, smelts, and other small fish, salmon and shad, until the same have been cleansed of their entrails and refuse parts ; and such entrails and refuse parts shall be kept in some tight vessel, and shall be thrown into the sea below low-water mark within twenty-toui houis aftei the fish are so cleansed. And no person shall sell, or offer for sale, in the city, fish of any kind, unless the same be kept in covered stalls, fish-boxes, or other houses, or covered carts, which shall always be kept clean and in good order, and well secured from the rays of the sun.
