Col. H. A. Bruce to W. O. December 12th, 1916. Cecil Chambers, 86 Strand, London, W. C. Dear Sir William, I think that thank you for your letter of the 10th inst., giving permission to publish the correspondence between us. I do not know what the other letters are, which you refer to, but I presume letters between yourself, Hughes and Jones. If there are any, I have not copies of them. In the correspondence dealing with Miss Campbell, I think it is best to refer to her as Miss "X" and to Gorrell and "N". I am also omitting the names of Major and Mrs. Astor and the Bostons, as it seems to me unnecessary to bring them into the controversy. Yours faithfully, H. A. Bruce.
