From W. O. 1, West Franklin Street, (Feb.) 6, (1900). Dear Schafer, I was very glad to have your letter last week. I should be very loth to leave this place where I am most comfortable and have a really good clinic. One consideration more than any other would influence me. I do not - nor does Mrs. Osler - wish Revere to be brought up an American, so that we are planning, if matters turn out all right, to retire to England in eight or ten years. I see by the papers that Grainger Stewart is dead. From the account I had of his illness last Summer I was not surprised. My prospects would not I should say be very bright, but I should be glad to hear of the outlook. Love to the children. Yours sincerely, Wm Osler.
