Dear Mr. Fogarty:

You sent to me in April a copy of a letter which you
had received from Mr. Robert P. Clark, a Nieman Fellow at
Harvard University, in which he raised questions about
the Federal support of medical research.

Enclosed are copies of replies made by several people
to similar letters from Mr. Clark, including one from me.

{ have let this lie in my pending file inadvertently
for far too long, which I very much regret.
