American §?octetr. Fellows : — After many unavoidable delays, chiefly incident to the recent formation of the Society, The Transactions of the First Annual Meeting are now in print, and will be published before many days. You are reminded that there are twenty-two vacan- cies in the complement of Fellows ; and that nomina- tions for Fellowship must be signed by two Fellows, and, together with an original paper by the candidate, be in the hands of the Secretary not later than April 29th of this year. The following titles of papers that are in preparation for the second annual meeting of the Society, have al- ready been received : — Second Annual Address on “ Medical Gynecology,” by the Presi- dent, Fordyce Barker, M. D. “Is there a Proper Field for Battey’s Operation?” by Robert Battey, M. D. “The Intra-Uterine Treatment of Flexions,” by Ely Van de Warker, M. D. “ Etherization in Childbirth,” by W. T. Lusk, M. D. “ Dilatation of the Cervix Uteri for the Arrest of Hemorrhage,” by G. H. Lyman, M. D. “ The Corpus Luteum,” by J. C. Dalton, M. D., of New York. “ The Relations of Pregnancy and Phthisis,” by W. Chadwick, M. D. It is hoped that the Secretary will be informed, at as early a date as possible, of other articles that are being prepared for the next meeting. Fellows are earnestly requested to have their papers in perfected condition at the time of meeting, as the Editing Committee propose to request the adoption of the following motion : — Voted,, That no paper shall be accepted for publication unless it be placed in the hands of the Secretary before the final adjourn- ment of the meeting at which it shall have been read. This measure is thought to be indispensable to secure the early publication of the Transactions each year, and to maintain the perfect integrity of the discussions. The Second Annual Meeting will be held in Boston on May 30, 31, and June 1, 1877. JAMES R. CHADWICK, Secretary. Clarendon Street, Boston, April 1, 1877.
