1. Major General Lewis Wallace, U. S. Volunteers, is assigned to 
the command of the Eighth Army Corps, and of the Middle Depart- 
ment, exclusive of Fort Delaware. 
2. The Commanding Officer of Fort Delaware will report direct to 
the War Department, and Iris post will not he considered as belonging 
to any Geographical Department.
