officers are retired fiom active service, and their names will be entered 
on the retired list of officers of the grade to which they now respect- 
ively belong, in accordance with section 12, act approved July 17, 
1862, they having been borne on the Army Register more than forty- 
five years; this order to take effect June 1, 1863.
