The proceedings in the foregoing case having been laid before the Secretary of War, to be submitted to the President, the following order lias been made thereon: The proceedings, findings and sentence in the case of Lieut. Mason G. Anderson are approved and confirmed; but in consideration of his good character, as established at his trial, and the recommendation of a portion of the officers of his company, the sentence is remitted, and Lieutenant Anderson will be restored to duty with his company. order.
