Dear Charlotte and Dad It was good to have a visit with you in New York, and I'm only sorry that we didn't have more time together. I was glad to see your handsomely remodeled living room. I have been exceeding[sic] busy and hectic since my return, mainly worrying about and planning the move into the new laboratory building. There have been a number of frustrations and bottlenecks, but I hope most of those have been cleared up by now. We plan to move the entire gang and equipment over a three-week period, starting Aug 24th. I'll move my group on Aug 25th. We ought to be nicely settled and hopefully productive by the time you get here in October. I have been invited by Henry Lardy to present a paper at the National Academy meeting here, which I hope will do no harm. Potter and Khorana have also been asked, so I believe we are the next three on the local list. We'll see what, if anything, develops. When you come in October I hope you'll plan to spend enough time to see my photos from around the world. We'd like to see yours, too. It's been quite cool here lately, so the air-conditioning hasn't had much chance to work. But it does work, and is very pleasant. I hope you'll continue having an interesting and dysentery-less trip. Love Charlie
