December 18, 1950 Dear Mr. Mellen: There must be many an officer of one kind of enterprise or another who is having emotions comparable to yours on receiving the word from the A.M.A. regarding their contribution. If there are 180,000 A.M.A. members, the contribution works out at about $2.75 a piece. So my only immediate suggestion directs itself to myself, not to you, and relates to the virtues of not exercising an inherent capacity to comment on the conduct of others. 1 do not see that there is anything unusual to be done at this juncture. Yours sincerely, Alan Gregg
