Dear Clarence:
Many thanks for sending me your excellent article on the "People's Health Program in Sweden." This is very interesting material, and it does indeed throw some light on our own health care efforts.
It is my hope and expectation that this Congress will go far toward meeting the health care needs of our elderly population by passage of the hospital insurance act. This program is a partial answer to problems cited such as high costs, but it also carefully refrains from any interference with the practice of medicine independent of government control.
