Dear Dr. Yamamura:
I had assumed that you were informed by Dr. Ikawa of my intention to participate in the seminar in Oslo.  I am sorry if there was any confusion. I would also be willing to lead a discussion after dinner; perhaps it would be useful to talk about the new and evolving relationship between the university and industry, since that is an issue closely bound up with recombinant DNA.
I have already arranged for my air travel and would like to receive the equivalent of a tourist class ticket in cash when I arrive in Japan.
I will send you an abstract in a few weeks.
