July 15, 1986 Dear Dr. Nirenberg: We are delighted you have elected to receive the National Library of Medicine Award honoring America's Nobelists. The response to this event has been so great that the original site was far too small. We have had to postpone the dinner and festivities to November 18 to accomodate the larger numbers. We are planning a late afternoon reception at the White House with President and Mrs. Reagan who will be our hosts. The reception will be followed by a gala celebration at the new and very beautiful J. W. Marriott Hotel, 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., where we will be joined by members of Congress and other prominent citizens. Travel and lodging expenses, of course, will be provided by the Friends of the National Library of Medicine. We apologize for the inconvenience of this late date change, it was beyond our control. We sincerely hope that you can make the 18th of November and look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Edwin C. Whitehead
