Dear Professor Nirenberg:
I am moving to Columbia in September and need your help in developing a Department of Pathobiology at the Medical School.   I should like to make three full professorial appointments in Biology (e.g., genetics, ultrastructure, differentiation, protein, nucleic acid, lipid, or carbohydrate chemistry).   I am writing hoping that you will give me the names of three people who might be interested in the New York environment.  Good space, complete freedom, seats at the Lincoln Center and an opportunity to have postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, as well as to teach undergraduates at Columbia College are available.
