I very much enjoyed our talk at d inner with
the Bazelons the other evening. Phil Handler
also arranged a useful meeting with Ed David
at the White House Science Adviser's office on
the questions of crop innovations;,and I will
be in touch with you further as may be useful,

On the matter of America;s place in the world,
I would certainly encourage you to stress this
in your hearings on trade policy; and again I
will have some more coherent memoranda for you
in good time.

Bob Bird has lined me yp for testimony on
4-26 and I look forward to seeing you again at
that time.
