September 25, 1968 Dr. Ntinos C. Myrianthopoulos Head, Section on Epidemiology and Genetics Perinatal Research Branch National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Blindness National Institutes of Health Bethesda, Maryland 20014 Dear Dr. Myrianthopoulos: When I got those tapes from you it must have been a jinx on our computer system, because it promptly thereafter went into some very serious spells of hardware problems from which we have only just recovered. I justthought I would let you know that my interest in working up the data in them has not flagged, but I have just been unable to do very much about it until the last week or so. Mrs. Hwang, my programming assistant, has worked out some very pretty display programs for extracting individual data items out of the file, and we are now readdng them on the display scope. If you happen to be by this way and would have an occasion to have a look we hope you would avail yourself of the opportunity. I will continue to gfte this a reasonable amount of attention, but it will be a little while before I can report any very comprehensive study on the data files, as I am sure you will understand. + Sincerely yours, Joshua Lederberg Professor of Genetics So7nod ont NY IVAW
