Thinking back on our earlier chromosome-DNA-pattern-
discussions I wonder whether this Chromosompaper, which will
soon appear, would be of interest for you. I also send some
background information,

The fluorescence pattern after quinacrine mustard
appears to be quite reproducdéble - we have now a five times
larger material than that in the publication with no "abortions".
Now we are going on to some inherited chromosome aberrations - a
field that looks quite promising. The main limitation is the
resolving power of the microscope which makes work on the smallest
chromosomes less attractive, but, as you can see, a lot of infor-
mation can be gotten from the large and intermediate-sized ones.

This is evidently a field for computerisation of the work

- I did not believe much in doing that for the DNA-patterns - and

we are doing some efforts in that direction. I fear, however, that

our resources for such pattern recognition work are by far un-

sufficient,
