Dear Bruce: The Z. Hyg. with Caselitz' paper just cama in. He mentioned in one line a casual observation that after ultrasonic (survivorships never mentioned!—mst have been fairly low) a paratyphi B original- ly in group phase came out specific. He says himself this doesn't mean anything in view of the "spbunghaft" character of phase variation, and I don't doubt it was only an accident. In most of his work, he says, he got buck the same phase as he put in.
