We just got back from our vacation, and found your letter.

Taam afraid I know next to nothing about adaptive responses to
melibicse. Gabe Lester has worked on this in K-12 (J. Bact. dune '52),
and 1t would look as 1f it ought to work quite well. I can't suggest
any strains that would do better. However, I think that B, in generalp

shows considerably better adaptatipn for lactase with resting cella
than doea K+12,
