Dear Josh and Ester [sic],
I believe that I have found one of the genes for 'constitutiveness' of B-galactosidase and that is the gene for 4-epimerase.  Correlation between 4-epimerase levels and levels of B-galactosidase in K12 grown on glycerol mineral medium is striking.  Details will follow soon.
