Thank you for your gracious letter of July 13. 1 am most interested
to hear of your continued progress.

Unfortunately there has been the most vexatious financial problems
and delays in the construction of our laberatories, which will cer-
tainly not be finished now before November, 1965. We have started
@ very small program in protein chemistry of brain.

It would be unfair of me to encourage you about our prospects. The
possibility is very small that I can verify my original suggestion of
your working here, { am sorry for making such a suggestion prematurely.
However, If any possibllities arise In our laboratory, or In other
laboratories doing similar work, ! will bring them to your attention.
