Dear Frangois: Thank you for your wery kind letter to Esther and myself. Since coming back, I have dabbled a little more with the recorder gyself and found I could play it very much better than the last time I had putblt away, a couple of years ago. Unfortumately, not well enough to amuse anyone but myselé. We have been back a few weeks now, and needless to say look back on our visits to Paris and to Britain with very great fandaess. It is true that sm we are just now planning our itinerary for Australia. We have felt obliged to alter and abbreviate our plans somewhat. Now, we plan to leave here August 1 and to return (directly) about mid-November or end-November. Wevertheless, if we again saw the possibility of a double-fare, we would not be likely to rafuse it. It is true, however, that the sudden high con- centration of trips somewhat reduces our credit, and we are not likely to be able to raise more than a nominal amount locally. On the other hand, George Klein has already made a semi-official invitation for the Stockholm Congress that might carry the possibility of one fare. Perhaps we might collaborate to achieve the objectives. Do you want to get in touch with him yousself, or is there more I should do? We enjoyed ourselves too well to wish to discourage a chance to to the same again. Only this time, I hope you will not expect to hear m in French: now that you know the consequencee, I am sure you will not. With best regards,
