MBE/Woods Hole, ‘ads. August 25, 1954 Dr. Ke Le Jones, Chairman Department of Botany Universality of Michigan Ann Arbor, Michigan Dear Or. Jones: AB you suggested, I have asked Ephrussi, quite informally, as to the prospects of his visiting Ann Arbor during the fall. He will be starting his lectures at Harvard in mid@Beptember, and ie due to satay in residence there until the end of the year. He will have to return promptly to Paris, and it will therefore not be convenient for him to take any engagements then. However, he my find an osnortu- nity during the fall session. Since he will not be able to fix hie plans until then, I would sug- gest you write to him about the end of September or early October, if you can enlist sufficient interest in his speaking at Ann Arbor. I need hardly add my own coment on the substance and technique of his presentations. : If this goes through, and he enjoys anything nearly like the wonder-~ ful hospitality that Esther and I did, he will certainly enjoy a pleasant and profitable experience. Thies ie just a passing ex-ressiion of our thanks to your colleagues and yourself. Yours olncere ly, poshua Leder berg _Rrotesoor, sf “enotiss if i t, Ak Saar way & dW A, The We kieran & . Y. yi
