Dear Professor Heden:

If March 1 would not be too late I could entertain the possibility of a
contribution. I would suggest a title "The microbe as a model of evolution"
which would focus more sharply on the main issues, still roughly what you
suggested. It would be a strain to meet an earlier deadline as I have made
& couple of other commitments which call upon the same reserves of energy.

Have I sent you a note recommending Rubbo as a stalwart for some role in
spacecraft quarantine?

I mist remain at Stanford November 16-18, but would be happy to see you here
if you have the oceasion.
