Dear Dr. Lederberg:

It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to meet you and to

discuss several of the problems of mutual interest. In mentioning
some of these to our TV people, they feel that these problems are,
by no means, insurmountable or difficult to solve. Mr. Cope, who
is concerned with the development of TV tubes and systems, will be
on the West Coast in the next two weeks and will contact you then.

Apropos of our discussion relative to an informal working agreement
between you and RCA, it is felt that such an agreement would be
beneficial to both of us. Since this would be on an individual
cooperative basis, our mutual interests can then be served most
effectively. I hope that this arrangement will be satisfactory and
that we may be of help in achieving some of our common goals in the
United States space program.
