Dear Dr. Lederberg, I am very glad to inform you that I have now some hopes to be 4#& able to attend the Congress of Yenetics at Montréal because I have been awarded with a travel grant.However it is truce tie travel de ~ pends on whether I shall get my passeport still in due time ot 12, TZ so,I have the intention to meet some geneticists in the United States after the Congress according to the possibilities what I can arrange concerning the travel and living expenses.Because I am al- ready invited ta visit The Lilly 4esearch Laboratories and the 80ta- ny Department of the .Indiana University, this "vicinity" would offer an onpportunity for me to visit also your Department in Madison,I think so at least.May I ask you,thbeefore, whether you are in the position to receive me for some days,because I have to send my ini- nary for my visit in the United States to Professor Xyan,who is then making the necessary official informative steps.
