In our department there is at present a
vacancy in the permanent staff membership at the
Instructor or Assistant Professor level which we
are anxious to fill before the opening of the
1958-59 academic year. Appointments to this post
will be made on the basis of the potential merit
of the appointee as a teacher and investigator:
we have no formulated preferences in regard to his
field, although he should be prepared to discharge
part of his teaching duties in the elementary zo0ol-
ogy course for freshmen.
