Dear Dr. Lederberg,

Last summer I sent you a collection of dried cultures
of special Salmonella strains, The cultures were dispatched
in three packages sent by surface mail and the safe arrival
of one of these was acknowledged by Dr. Bernstein in a letter
dated August 3, 1954. I hope the two other packages and my letter
dated July 13, 1954, have also reached you safely,

Referring to my letter of June 29, 1954, I am sending now
6 x 5 = 30 ampoules of dried cultures.

These are the cultures of those strains that were not yet ready
last year, namely :

The five strains whose NCTC numbers are entered in the
enclosed List by hand; and

strain Watson (NCTC No. 838.) which was to be replaced.

I hope the present parcel will reach you safely.
