Dear Josh:

Thank you very much for the cultures. They arrived in
fine shape and seem to be exactly what we want,

I must say that I have an increased respect for the work
in microbial genetics. The experiments which sound so simple
and fool-proof are giving my students trouble right and left,
And this despite the fact that in the course laboratory I have
only three students and they are among our best. Oh, well,

I have come to expect this in student labs, but it is dis-
couraging nonetheless,
