I think the evidence indicates that Eigen
will not accept our invitation, nor do I think it is
likely that he will take any other of the various
offers tendered to him by other American universities --
at least not in the near future.

Marvin Chodorow's expansion of the Applied Ss
Physics Division, and his strengthening of instrumen-_ ¥
tation here should be a definite asset in other cam-
paigns we have under consideration. I look forward
to meeting him and learning more of his plans.
