biy interested in joining the Stanford Chemistry
faculty - at any rate his choice has narrowed to Stanford and one other
school. The Department of Chemistry is anxious to add Dr. Flory to
its staff, and at this stage there is no question of our looking him over:
we have already decided that we want him and we are now wooing him.

Anything that you can do towards making Dr. Flory feel
clearly that we earnestly wish to add him to the Stanford faculty will
be most gratefully appreciated by us.

Visit of Dr. Paul Flory

E, Hutchinson will meet Dr. and Mrs. Flory at
San Francisco airport, take them to Rickeys, and
entertain them in the afternoon.

Dr. and Mrs. Noller and Dr. Koenig will take Dr.
and Mrs. Flory out to dnner this evening.

Hutchinson will collect Dr. Flory from Rickeys
at 9.30 a.m.

Appointment with Dr. Bowker at 10.00 a.m.
Appointment with Dr. Sterling at 10,30 a.m.
Balance of morning in chemistry building.

Lunch in Dr. Kornberg's office in Medical School.

Afternoon spent talking to Spencer, Orttung, Laurie,
et al.

Dinner with the Taube's.

Mrs. Hutchinson will entertain Mrs. Flory to lunch
and for sightseeing during the afternoon.

Dr. Johnson will collect Dr. Flory from Rickeys at
9.30 a.m.
Morning free for extempore plans.

Lunch with Dr, Mayo of S.R.I. Mrs. Flory invited
also.

Cocktail party, Dean Rhinelander's house, 5 - 7 p.m.
