Dear Luca
Joshua and I are very pleased you are able to manage your trip to Stanford this summer.  We can well understand that Alba is unable to come on this particular occasion.  As for housing we're sure that Len's secretary will be quite efficient rounding up possibilities that interest you.  We of course expect you to stay with us when you arrive, and will naturally meet you at the airport if you let us know the details.  Oh, as for [ . . . ] from Italy Joshua still wants very much a pair of ostrich gloves if obtainable.
