THE J. HILLIS MILLER HEALTH CENTER UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA GAINESVILLE DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY June 10, 1960 PHONE: FR. 6-3211 Dr. J. Lederberg Associate Professor Depart ment of Genetics University of Wisconsin Madison, 6, Wisconsin Dear Dr. Lederberg: Each year the University of Florida College of Medicine sponsors a series of guest lecturers as part of our cancer training program. We would like to have you come to Gainesville as one of our guest speakers during the coming fall or spring semester. It has been the pattern to ask the guest to give an evening lecture, the audience for which includes faculty and students in the fields of Micro- biology, Chemistry, Genetics etc., as well as from the Medical School. In addition, many give an informal seminar within a Department, having to do with some of their recent work. Our grant from the National Cancer Institute enables us to provide trans- portation and all expenses of the visit as well as a modest honorarium of $100.00. We would, of course, like for you to speak on some aspect of your work in the field of microbial genetics. The evening lecture should be fairly general in scope and treatmem. We would be delighted if you could accept this invitation and believe that you may find some of the things we are doing in our new Medical School interesting. We would greatly appreciate hearing from you in the near future so that a schedule for this program may be set. It would be desirable that you furnish us with alternative dates on this occasion. Ca ekann Eeeret Josh&é L. Edwards, M.D. Professor and Chairman Department of Pathology With kind regards,»
