August 24, 1953 Dear Bill: Eather and I just got back from San Francisco (S.A.B.) and found your note and cultures waiting here for us. It does indeed look as if there is no corre- lation between the host range and the schematig antigens. Have you tried anti-phage serum to further check on these heterologous reactions? I probably mentioned before that kunzendorf 302-50 is also susceptible to PLT-22, but I have not been able to grow the phage to a dec titer on this host, so far. On closer reading cf Pelix' papers, I see that PLT-22 1s essentially one of the TM or PB "0" phages, and not particularly pertinent to ing. Have E aot sent you PLT~225?—- my memory on this is cloudy. If you do the occasion to test 22 against miscellansous Salmonellas, the logiéal-crosann specially informative. & I am willing tod agree that the serolo peac tions of 302-50 are insignificant. Thanxs for these cultures. It will order, as moat people are vacatio e any results. S, ~ a few weeks before the lab. is in running auperating, but I'll write you again of Sincerely, Joshua Lederberk
