Dear Dr. Edwards:

Mr. Zinder and I have brought our manuscript on the Salmonella
transductions to what I hope will be its final, or nearly final, form,
As I warned you in an earlier letter, I am sending it to you for your
information, and for your oritical coments. The latter will be especially
appreciated. We are planning to submit the paper to the Journal of Bacterio-
logy 18 scon as we have received it hack from you, and have had time to
consider any remarks you may make.

Dr. Peso wrote to me just before he left the country. Unfortunately,
it was too late to establish contact. I am planning to prepare microfilmss
of the paper when it is settled, and will distribute prints to Dr. Peso

and yourself if they are likaly to be of any use in the interval before
publication. .

May I add my personal appreciabions to the formal acknowledgment in
the manuscript for all of the indispensable help you have given us in
this project.
