Dear Professor Rytand:

Thank you very much for your kind letter of January 14th.
The invitation to give the Lane Lectures is indeed a great honor.
Moreover, it will be appleasure to spend a week on your campus where
T have several good friends.

As to the general title, I would prefer something fairly
short and simple. ‘''The genetic load" occurs to me as a possibility.
It would certainly refer to the effects of modern medicine although
I am. of course, not a possessor of an M.D. degree. I take it we
would fix @ precise date in due course.
