Dear Mr, Okum:

At the suggestion of Prof. Lederberg I am inviting you to attend the
conference of interested bacterial geneticists to be held at Cold Spring
Harbor on June llth and 12th, during the Symposium (June 7-13), The
purpose of the meeting will be to go over the enclosed draft of the
"Proposal for uniform nomenclature in bacterial genetics" and to prepare
it for publication, I would like you to discuss briefly requirenents
of a system of nomenclature so it could be effectively used in writing
programs for IBM computers, I am asking Dr. H. BE. Umbarger, director
pro tem of the Biological Laboratory to extend the invitation to you to
attend the Symposium.

Funds are available for travel expenses (tourist class jet, and $12.00
per diem during the travel and the conference, calculated to the nearest
4 day). Regarding the advance and reimbursement you should communicate
directly with the treasurer of the Genetics Society of America, Prof,
Bdward Novitski (Biology Department, University of Oregon, Bugene, Oregon),
Transportation ticket receipt should be enclosed with the account of expenses.
