Thanks for attending to the mail.  Perhaps an interview with Diamantis in Sydney would be a good idea.  I am not too eager for more students, but there should always be a plan in the Department for someone really good.
As for us I know I am not a candidate for any office in any statistics society, "If nominated I shall not run, If elected I shall not serve."
I hope you do go to India.  Haldane has suggested an "Institute for Non-Violent Research" for India.  Kimura may go to India some time in the future.  Haldane is very enthusiastic about his work.
Mishima is far off the beaten paths.  Almost the only foreigners who come here are associated somehow with the Genetics Institute.  It's most pleasant, and I'm enjoying trying to write with Kimura.
Yesterday Dr. Everett of Cornell showed up.  He had been to Monika.  Kim Atwood seems to have cut a wide swathe when he was here.  They say he found his way from the station to the Institute by drawing a picture of the building, which some attribute to his skill as an artist.  Skeptics say that everybody knows any American is looking for the Institute and automatically direct him there.
See you in November.  By all means try Japan.
