I think you might be interested in a discussion I wrote several years ago on some of the factors involved in immune mechanisms which should be considered when theorizing on antibody formation. This appeared } in Chapter XI of “Amino Acids and Proteins", edited by David Green- berg, Charles Thomas, 1951. Since then many more have been added such as the lack of antibody formation in spite of the fact that antigen is present. This occurs commonly in some normal rabbits, in “tolerant” animals and also the disappearance of Ab in the circulation following termination of antigen injections.
