I have just returned to Berkeley to my desk to find several com-
munications from you, including WESTEX-3C which was dated

July 12, 1959 from your office and arrived in mind on July 20,1959,
after I hai left.

I hope to be able to join you on Saturday, September 12, 1959 and
tell you something of what transpired at Woods Hole, although I ex-
pect you probably have a pretty good idea of it from Davies.

There were ten panels at the meeting in Woods Hole, and I parti-
cipated in one of them which we have called Extra-Terrestrial
Life. JI am asking Dr. Sam Seeley, our Executive Secretary in
Washington, to send you the report of our deliberations as they
came out of that meeting.

I think that you will be pleased with the way the thing went,

since I hope it will strengthen the statement of position the
Space Science Board is preparing which you describe in your
memorandum of July 31, 1959, discussing the meeting of July 8,1959.
