The Advisory Board will consist of men of science and men of letters. My friend Aldous Huxley and I have talked for more than a year quite casually, of the need for such a Journal; and sore thing 4s now being attempted. Huxley agreed, by letter several days ago, to join this Board of Advisors with 'great pleasure.' The purpose of this letter is to invite you to join this Board of Advisors. Breitrose has spoken so very highly of your LI Whyte, during a day and evening we had spent in conversation, had urged me to come to Stanford to meet you. What I have heard of your thoughts about your work indicate an enormously stimul- ating mind. As a Nobel Laureate, I can imagine that many requests are made for your times; nevertheless, I urge you to join this Board. Others invited include Prof Martin Buber, P MS Blackett, C P Snow, Charles Davy, Halldor Laxness, Sisir Kumar Ghose, P Flor-Henry, R 0 Whipple, Gunnar Jahn, Jonas Salk, Wm 0 Douglas.
